Voltas posts 143% rise in PAT |
Voltas, the air conditioning and engineering services company of the Tata Group, has posted a 143 per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 47.22 for the quarter ended 31 December 2007 as compared to Rs 19.43 crore during the corresponding period last year. Net sales for the quarter under review rose by 17 per cent to Rs 676.80 crore as against Rs 580.86 crore last year. |
Leyland posts 14% rise in net profit |
Indian automobile manufacturer Ashok Leyland has posted a 14 per cent rise in net profit for the third quarter ending December 31,2007. The net profit posted was Rs 120.21 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 105.25 crore for corresponding quarter last year. |
TVS net down 49% to Rs 5.83 crore |
High interest rates coupled with low sales volumes dragged two-wheeler marker TVS Motor Company's net profits down 49 per cent to Rs 5.83 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 from Rs 11.46 crore last year. |
The drop in sales volumes was due to a slowdown in the motorcycle segment on account of prevailing high rates of interest and restricted availability of retail finance. Net sales were lower by six per cent at Rs 875.02 crore from Rs 935.41 crore last year. |
Novartis net dips 6% to Rs 22 crore |
Pharmaceutical company Novartis India today reported a 6.64 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 22.47 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, compared with Rs 21.07 crore during the same previous year. Total income of the company decreased 3.73 per cent to Rs 152.59 crore for the quarter from Rs 158.51 crore in a year ago. |
