Volvo Buses today said it expects a 25-30 per cent increase in its revenue this calendar year mainly on the back of private coach segment.

"Growth is coming out from the coach sector...Happy to see private coach sector making a comeback," Volvo Buses Managing Director Akash Passey told reporters on the sidelines of the SIAM summit here.

Last year, the company sold 535 units and majority of them were city buses used for public transport.

The company said this year it expects growth to come from coaches segment.

"This year, we are looking to do around 550-600 units and mainly 80 per cent of our business will come from coaches," Passey said.

Besides, he said the company recently sold coaches in Rajasthan, Kerala and Bangalore.

"We had sales in Rajasthan and Kerala, and Mumbai also picked up considerably," he said.
