With sales in India growing at 20 per cent this year and its customer base growing at 45 per cent, Mouser is banking on superior customer support to penetrate the market further. The new centre in Bengaluru can house 85 staff members and the company expects to outgrow it within three years.
"We are seeing an impressive gain in unique customers, which makes us a major player in the Indian market," said Mark Burr, SVP of APAC and EMEA businesses at Mouser. "Our sales success in India means that we need to increase the levels of local support we offer to our customers here,"
Mouser, which claims be the authorised dealer of more than 600 electronics manufacturers globally, says it largely caters to one-off demand from customers rather than playing in the volumes game. In India, it gets maximum of its business from Bengaluru, a city which is home to over 800 research and development centres.
In order to grow its business in India, Mouser has also begun accepting payments in rupee credit. The company which utilises a centralised warehouse in Texas, says it can deliver products to Indian customers in just three-five days, making it the choice distributor for one-off semiconductor and electronics purchases.
