Hyderabad-based Way2Online Interactive India, a consumer-focused Internet technology company that runs person-to-person (P2P) messaging portal Way2SMS.com, on Monday launched Way2News, an app that brings short-summarised nuggets of news in local languages in a magazine-style format.

The emphasis is on presenting news.

Also, Way2News provides crisp snippets in visual formats such as images, photo galleries and videos, Raju Vanapala, founder and chief executive of Way2Online, said in a release.

“Our professional editors scour multiple news sources like local dailies, TV news channels, websites and blogs and summarise each news story in just 400 characters,” he said, adding that the app was currently available in Hindi, Telugu and English languages. The company would add eight more languages in the next 45 days, he said.

Stating that Way2News is accessible on Android, and the iOS version of the app will go live in two weeks, he said the company was expecting five million users for Way2News in the next eight months.
