After opening the assembly plant, JLR CEO Ralf Speth said, “There is a huge market potential in India. We have achieved significant growth since 2009. It is the time to expand our operations due to the increasing demand for luxury products and strength of the Indian economy. With this, we will create 100 jobs in India.”
He added, "We are planning to launch 40 models in the next five years. We are expanding our network by appointing 12 dealers in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Jaipur by September 2011.”
Commenting on the price, Speth said, “If the sale grows in future, we will think of reducing prices in India. Currently, prices in India are higher than prices in the UK.”
