We'll deliver lowest possible prices despite inflation: IKEA India chief

IKEA announced that it had filed final document seeking permission to open stores

Swedish furniture major Ikea will try to deliver lowest prices despite high inflation, said Juvencio Maeztu, Country manager, IKEA Group today.

“We may tweak our offering in India but we are obsessed with lower price which is important for India. Regardless of inflation, we will try to deliver that,” said Maeztu at the India Retail Forum here.

On Monday, IKEA announced that it had filed final document seeking permission to open stores. It  plans to invest Rs 10,500 crore to open 25 stores in India.

“We will work on four things –democratic design; Strong connection between sourcing and product development; store concept, and people approach,” Maeztu added.
