The All India Aircraft Engineers’ Association (AIAEA), a union of the erstwhile Indian Airlines, has decided not to go on strike from June 12.
AIAEA was one of the two unions which had gone on strike barely three days after the Mangalore tragedy. The other was the Air Corporation Employees Union.
Air India derecognised both the unions; they threatened a stir again. Y V Raju, General Secretary, AIAEA said conciliation talks with the chief labour commissioner are on and that “we haven’t withdrawn the strike order, but we have decided not to go on strike from tomorrow.”
