Welspun Corp secures orders worth Rs 1,217 cr

Line pipe maker Welspun Corp today said it has bagged pipes and plates orders worth Rs 1,217 crore from national and international markets.

With the addition of these orders, the current orderbook of the company stands at Rs 6,241 crore (approx. 876 KMT for pipes and external plate orders of 92 KMT,) without excluding the orders being executed in Q4 FY2012, Welspun Corp said in a filing to the BSE.

Welspun Corp is the second largest pipe maker in the world having two million tonnes per annum capacity at Dahej in Gujarat, Little Rock in the US and Saudi Arabia.

Welspun Corp's shares were trading at Rs 135 apiece in late afternoon trade, down 7.63% over its previous day's closing on the BSE.
