Welspun-Gujarat FY10 net jumps three-fold at Rs 610cr

Leading pipe maker Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren today said its consolidated net profit jumped nearly three-folds to Rs 610 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2010, over the same period last year.

The company had a profit of Rs 213 crore in the last fiscal year.

Total income rose to Rs 7,368.8 crore for the year-ended March 31, from Rs 5,758 crore in the same period previous fiscal, Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The board has proposed a dividend of Rs 2 per share on the face value of Rs 5 per share to the shareholders.
    
On the standalone basis, for the year ended March 31, 2010, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 540 crore, a two-folds jump over the same year-ago period.
   
Shares of Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren were trading at Rs 274.75 on BSE, up 0.33 per cent from previous close.
