Welspun Q4 net up at Rs 41 cr

Pipe manufacturer, Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren (WGSRL) has posted an increase of 112.82 per cent in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 at Rs 41.5 crore compared with Rs 19.5 crore posted in the year-ago period.
 
Net sales for the reporting quarter grew by 13.47 per cent to Rs 731.1 crore from Rs 644.3 crore posted during the same period last year. For the full year ended March 31, 2007, the net profit increased by 132.62 per cent to Rs 142.6 crore from Rs 61.3 crore in the last financial year. Net sales for FY07 grew by 46.46 per cent to Rs 2,682.8 crore compared with Rs 1,831.7 crore posted in the last financial year.
 
EBIDTA for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007 has grown by 64.19 per cent to Rs 90.8 crore from Rs 55.3 crore of the last quarter of the previous year.
 
As for the year ended March 31, 2007, the company reported a growth of 101.32 per cent in EBIDTA to Rs 333.2 crore compared with Rs 165.5 crore of the previous financial year.
 
B K Goenka, vice-chairman and MD, said, "Repeat orders from customers such as Kinder Morgan, Enterprise and other oil and gas majors is a testimony to our product performance. We look to have similar support from our shareholders."
