Whirlpool of India limited (WIL), a subsidiary of Whirlpool Corporation, is currently focusing on expanding its portfolio in the power management and conservation segment to drive its future growth.
The home appliances major, which forayed into this segment last year with the launch of home UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems, is now planning to come out with higher capacity invertor batteries and online UPS for retail, corporate and industrial outfits.
“Our target is to achieve an annual turnover of Rs 500 crore from this segment 4-5 years down the line,” WIL vice president, corporate affairs and strategy, Shantanu Dasgupta, said adding the segment’s contribution to the company’s revenues at present was around Rs 30 crore.
