Wipro Technologies has announced that it has successfully completed its first SAP implementation in China for Olympus (Beijing) Sales & Service Co.

OCM had awarded the SAP FICO implementation to Wipro Technologies across four new locations in mainland China.

The new IT system enables OCM to achieve complete automation and integration of their financial and management reporting system. The new system further provides the application infrastructure required to support OCM's expansion strategy across China.

"The SAP FICO project is a very critical project for OCM and had to be completed in four months, an incredibly short period for a project of its scale and importance. Team Wipro which included Indian, Japanese, and Chinese consultants has once again demonstrated their ability to execute the assignment without any deviation on timelines and maintaining the set quality standards," Masaki Nagao, chief executive - Japan and China operations, Wipro Limited, said.

Wipro created the conceptual design of the future business process and systems, using its SAP specialists with knowledge of the Chinese legal system. The team implemented a template-based approach to standardise business processes across Asia.

"The SAP FICO implementation in China is the best fit for our organisation's expansion plans. It complements our overall IT integration plans and provides a streamlined mechanism for our sales and logistics operations," Koichiro Hayashi, general manager of corporate division at OCM, said.
