Wipro invests $8.2 million in Opera Solutions

Wipro has invested an additional $8.2 million in Opera Solutions, a global big data and analytics company. In May 2013, the Bangalore-based IT services company had invested $30 million in Opera which specialises in machine learning to Big Data flows to extract predictive patterns which are also known as "signals". Including the latest investment, so far Wipro has invested around $53 million in Opera for close to 20 per cent stake in it. In a filing on the BSE, Wipro said it has entered into a Series G preferred unit purchase agreement to increase its investment in Opera Solutions.
