Wipro to set up consumer care unit in Himachal

 This was being done to avail of tax concessions offered to new manufacturing facilities in the state, Agrawal added.

 The unit would initially manufacture consumer care goods, but infotech products might be considered later, Suresh Senapathy, chief financial officer, Wipro, told Business Standard.

 Wipro has various established brands, and leverages its brand name and distribution network to sustain a profitable presence in niche segments like soaps, toiletries, lighting products and hydrogenated cooking oils.

 The consumer care and lighting segment accounted for 7 per cent of Wipro
