Wipro Water, a division of the IT major Wipro, today said it will enter into executing big water treatment projects, worth up to the tune of Rs 100 crore, as it looks to expand its business in the country.
At present, the company is executing around 20 projects across for different industrial units, of which the biggest is worth Rs 12 crore.
"We are scaling up the size of the projects significantly. We are already bidding for large water treatment projects that range from Rs 10 crore to Rs 50 crore and can even go up to Rs 100 crore," Wipro Water Vice President and Business Head Hariprasad Hegde told PTI.
He, however, did not divulge the names of the firms that the company is bidding for saying that "it is too early talk about it".
"We are present in all industrial segments. But we find power, oil and gas and steel (sectors) having a huge opportunity. So these are the spaces that we are looking at," Hegde said.
The company, which acquired Aquatech Industries (India) in 2008, is already working on around 20 projects in various institutional and industrial projects, including that of BHEL, Hindustan Zinc, Gujarat Ambuja and Cairn Energy.
