iGATE co-founder Sunil Wadhwani-led Wish Foundation India is looking to raise a $100 million fund to nurture health innovators for finding affordable solutions. On Wednesday, over 100 innovators met here to look for ways to enable the under-privileged to service healthcare.

Bankrolled by Wish India Foundation, the initiative - with support from Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India - is exploring options such as specially-designed low cost glucometer, urine analyzer and tele-connected health ATM and other devices.

"For the fund, Wish Foundation India is putting about $10 million and we are trying to raise rest of the money from various avenues. Talks are on at various levels," Wish Foundation India CEO Soumitro Ghosh said.

According to Ghosh, Wish, which intends to reach 10 million undeserved people with such healthcare innovations, has already tied up with State Consortium for Accelerating, Leveraging and Economizing innovations (SCALE) for such programmes.

Wish Foundation India has also partnered with the Rajasthan government, offering 11 low-cost innovations, with a special focus on mother and child healthcare.

The foundation has also tied up with Millenium Alliance, Sankalp Forum and other leading development partners like Naryana Health, Hewlett Packard, Karuna Trust, and SRL Diagnostics for various facilities.
