Wrangler, promoted by Arvind Fashions Limited, plans to open four more new format showrooms during the current fiscal. At present, it has seven stores in this format. |
Speaking to media persons after the launch of the company's second new format showroom in the city, Janani Subramanian, brand manager of Wrangler, said: "While two stores would be coming up in Chandigarh and Bangalore, the company would open two more stores in Delhi." |
According to her, out of the 43 outlets including franchisees, 20 are exclusively run by the company. |
"The company is also converting the old exclusive outlets into the new format. Out of the 12 stores that the company has, five have been shut down and the other seven are in the process of being converted," Subramanian said. |
She also said that as part of a two-pronged expansion strategy the company was looking at opening outlets in second-tier cities across the country. |
The company expects the turnover to cross Rs 50 crore during the current financial year from Rs 32 earned last fiscal. "We expect the exclusive stores to contribute around 40 per cent of the total turnover," she said. |
According to her, the new-look stores have been done up to reflect the aspirations of the younger generation by using more steel, glass and acrylic interiors. |
"Another focus area in the stores is the display of the merchandise, as it helps the consumer feel closer to the brand,"she said. |
