At a glittering ceremony, the 47th Convocation of the Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI), was held last week at the Tata Auditorium, Jamshedpur.
The Convocation was graced by director general, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) R.A. Mashelkar, and noted humanitarian and social worker and Nobel Peace Prize nominee from India Marian Zelazek.
Welcoming the chief guest and the gathering proclaimed P.D.Thomas, director, XLRI, said "The recent placement record of our students defying the industry slow down is the finest testimony of the quality of our teaching and devotion of the faculty and the dedication of our students to excel in life."
The XLRI convocation marks the ceremonial passing out for a batch of 124 students symbolising their last step out of the alma-mater and into the corporate world. Awards were also given for long service to the non-teaching and administrative staff at the ceremony.
