Yamaha Motor Corp, the world's second-largest motorcycle maker, will recall 2,21,358 electric-hybrid bicycles to fix faulty motor parts. The recall, which starts tomorrow, affects 18 models produced between January 2001 and February 2003 under the Yamaha, Bridgestone Corp and Miyata Industry Co brands, the company said. Seven accidents related to the faulty parts have been reported, said the company, based in Iwata City, southwest of Tokyo. Yamaha said it will recall 54,304 scooters to fix faulty parts in their fuel pumps, engines and transmissions. |
