Yashoda Group of Hospitals would start its third cancer treatment facility at Malakpet here shortly. The group has facilities at Secunderabad and Somajiguda in the city, according to its managing director Dr GS Rao.

Speaking to the media on Friday, he said a single database connecting the three centres would be created. This could be connected to other cancer treatment facilities. Yashoda would also offer training to radiologists on using RapidArc technology that delivers powerful and more precise radiation for destroying the tumours.

The treatment using RapidArc costs between Rs 3,50,000 and Rs 4,00,000 in India, Rao said.

It would hold an international symposium on RapidArc technology tomorrow where about 300 oncologists would share their experiences on using the new technology.
