To all foodies delight, city-based food chain Cocoberry that specialises in frozen fresh yogurt and fruit dessert items today said it will expand to all major metros and mini-metros across the country this fiscal and open about 40 new outlets.
"We will have our outlets in all major cities including Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai by March 2011. Our target is to have a total of 50 restaurants across the country within the fiscal," Cocoberry Managing Director G S Bhalla said.
The new outlets will be a combination of company-owned and franchise ones but Bhalla refused to divulge details of investment plans. The chain, part of IT firm Horizon Group, currently operates 11 outlets in Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Its next outlet will open this month in Chandigarh.
Cocoberry is also venturing into soups and beverages as it seek to tap the estimated Rs 10,000 crore health food market in India.
"The experiment with yogurt as a healthy food has proved successful. We will be introducing soups, salads, iced green tea and smoothies in our outlets by end of May. This is intended to establish our brand as a wholesome destination for healthy foods, specially among the youngsters," he said.
