Zensar, Geometric & Jain Irrigation Q3 results

Zensar net up 16% at Rs 8.40 crore
 
Zensar Technologies, a global software and BPO services provider, recorded consolidated profits at Rs 8.40 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, a rise of 16 per cent over the Rs 7.26 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
 
On a sequential basis net profit rose 91 per cent from Rs 4.40 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005. Revenues grew by 20 per cent at Rs 109.28 crore as compared with Rs 90.97 crore last year.
 
"The consolidated profit has been the highest in the company's history and demonstrates the success of the new innovation strategy of the company has implemented," said Ganesh Natarajan, deputy chairman and MD.
 
Geometric net dips to Rs 2.34 cr
 
Geometric Software Solutions has posted a lower net profit of Rs 2.34 crore (Rs 6.56 crore during the same period previous financial year) in the third quarter ended December 2005. Total income during the period under review rose to Rs 31.84 crore (Rs 27.05 crore).
 
"The performance is broadly in line with our expectations. The quarter saw significant achievements particularly in desktop products and technologies, now a part of the Teksoft unit and a major step forward in enterprise products," Geometric Software Solutions managing director Manu Parpia said.
 
The group has posted a net profit of Rs 3.93 crore (Rs 7.95 crore in the previous quarter) on a consolidated basis for the reporting quarter. Total income stood at Rs 55.87 crore (Rs 42.95 crore).
 
Jain Irrigation net up at Rs 15.25 cr
 
Jain Irrigation Ltd has posted over two-fold increase in its net profit at Rs 15.25 crore for the third quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 6.09 crore in the year-ago period.
 
Net sales of the company posted an increase of 51.01 per cent at Rs 219.39 crore for the quarter ended December 2005, from Rs 145.28 for the same quarter in the previous year. Earnings per share was Rs 2.63 (Rs 1.12 in the year-ago period) for the third quarter.
 
However, net earnings before income, depreciation, tax, advances (EBIDTA) declined to Rs 33.34 crore by 15.12 per cent compared with the same period last year after absorbing Rs 3.12 crore forex loss, Jain Irrigation informed the National Stock Exchange.
 
Meanwhile, for the nine-month period, net profit grew by 132 per cent.
 
The company has also announced a capex plan of Rs 225 crore recently and is expected to tie up funds for the plan before the end of current financial year.
