Zuari ups stake in Nagarjuna Fertilisers to 6.43%

Fertiliser manufacturer Zuari Industries (ZIL) today said that it has raised its stake in Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals (NFCL) to 6.43% through open market transactions.

ZIL earlier held 2,71,46,290 shares or 6.34% stake in NFCL.

The company (ZIL) in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) said that it had acquired 4,04,024 shares or 0.09% stake in NFCL through the open market on June 17, which had taken its total share holding to 6.43%.

After the acquisition, the total shares of NFCL with ZIL stands at 2,74,50,314, the filing added.

ZIL a part of the KK Birla group, has been steadily buying shares of NFCL.

 

ZIL manufactures urea and complex fertilisers and has forayed into cement, hybrid seeds, engineering consultancy, financial services and oil tanking through subsidiaries and joint ventures.

Shares of ZIL today closed at Rs 642 apiece, down by 2.42% from its previous close at the BSE.
