Ahmedabad-based pharma giant Cadila Healthcare's chairman and managing director, Pankaj Patel, has been appointed as chairman of the Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur (IIM-U) board. Announcing the appointment on Friday, the institute said the same was done by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) earlier this week.
Patel succeeds Hindustan Motors Chairman C K Birla as the chairman of IIM-U. Apparently, Patel is also one of the members of the Board of Governors at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
Patel, who holds a masters degree in Pharma and Pharmaceutical Technology from Gujarat University and a Law degree from University of Mumbai, has been serving as the Senior Vice President of FICCI since December 2015 and President of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry since 2006.
