Healthcare firm Zydus Wellness today said its net profit rose by 52.39 per cent to Rs 7.65 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2010, compared to same period last fiscal.
Total sales rose to Rs 87.41 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, compared to Rs 64.17 crore in the same period corresponding fiscal, Zydus Wellness said in a statement.
"The growth in topline and bottomline was boosted by the new variants recently launched and a robust performance from the company’s major brands -- Sugar Free, EverYuth and Nutralite," the company said in a statement.
Following the announcement, shares of Zydus shot up 8.35 per cent to a high of Rs 573.95 a life time high on the BSE, however, later pared the gains closed almost flat at Rs 531.55, up 0.35 per cent.
