The weekly two-day power holiday enforced for the industrial sector by the Telangana government would continue till November first week owing to the continued agriculture demand, according to the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Fapcci).
"Energy officials have informed that the power holidays will continue till November first week and once the agriculture requirement is met the duration of power cut will be reduced to one day a week," Anil Reddy Vennam, vice president of the industry body, said in a press release.
According to him, Fapcci has sought relief from the ongoing power holidays as small units cannot afford the back up diesel generation sets and also they do not have the open access facility unlike the large industries.
