2 killed in a fire break out at Maker Chamber in Mumbai

The blaze was said to be in control, the senior official from the fire brigade said

A major fire broke out early this morning at a residential building in south Mumbai, killing two persons, police and firefighters said.

"The fire broke out at the 20th floor of residential Maker Chamber following which 10 fire tenders rushed to the spot," a senior official from the fire brigade said.

The incident took place in 'A' Wing of Maker Chamber at Cuff Parade at 6:37 a.m. and, therefore, there were people sleeping in the tower at the time of incident, an official from fire brigade control room said.

Two persons were killed in the fire while 11 others were rescued, according to police and firefighters.
