Core banking solution (CBS) will be in available in 95 head post offices in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the next six months, Chief Postmaster General, AP Circle, B V Sudhakar has said
"To provide better services to the public, the postal department has introduced several unique schemes for their benefit, which includes 'core banking solution'," Sudhakar told reporters here yesterday.
"One of the advantages under the core banking solution is that a person can deposit and withdraw an amount from any post office. The facility will come into force in 95 Head Post Offices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states within five to six months. There will be no place for irregularities and there will be transparency in transactions," he said.

Efforts are also on for the online linking of 1.55 lakh post offices in the country in the next two years, he said, adding that steps were being taken to introduce and implement life insurance scheme from postal department in a comprehensive manner.
The post office has also introduced a 'Logistic Post' scheme for the benefit of small businessmen from June 16 and already commenced its work in three states - Hyderabad- Chennai, Hyderabad-Bangalore and Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam.
The main objective of the scheme is to deliver goods of small businessmen at their destination, he said.
