A C Muthiah, former BCCI President, says that the Indian Premier League (IPL) should be delinked from BCCI and there should be proper governance of the IPL and the Board.
Speaking to Business Standard in the backdrop of the latest match betting allegations which has resulted arrest of the current BCCI president N Srinivasan's son-in-law, he said, if that structuring is done, then it will work out much better.
While commenting that if N Srinivasan steps down as BCCI President, it will be a good shock treatment, he added that "IPL is a good product and it should not be banned once for all".

According to earlier reports, he alleges that a clause that helped Srinivasan to buy the IPL franchise, exempting the BCCI officials and others from the restrictions to own a franchise, should be ordered as illegal.
"I am continuing with the litigation. Till I get a final judgement, I will continue," he added.
Commenting that it is very sad and he is pained by what is currently happening, he said that the BCCI is not able to take action because there is this conflict of interest.
