Elections to the 15th Karnataka Legislative Assembly  were held on Saturday and the results will be out on Tuesday. An overview of the sittings and legislative work done by the 14th Assembly (2013-2018) suggests the House sat for an average of 49 days in a year, higher than the 13th Assembly. While the 13th Assembly sat for 178 days, the current Assembly had 244 days of sittings.  The Karnataka Assembly sat for an average of 51 days per year between 2013 and 2016, the highest among 20 states for which data are available.
