Advanced technology in bakery industry on display from July 22

Fair will be a one stop shop for food and bakery business, where the bakers knowledge sharing forum will help modernise the existing set up

The three-day Bakers Technology Fair-2016, beginning here from July 22, will display advanced baking technology for the benefit of bakery sector.

The fair will be a one stop shop for food and bakery business, where the bakers knowledge sharing forum will help modernise the existing set up, Geetha Krishnan, the organising committee chairman, told reporters here on Tuesday.

On display will be food service, raw material and ingredients, machinery and equipment for bakery and confectionary and ancilary services, he said.

As part of promoting Prime Minister's initiative Kaushal Vikas Yojana, J M Bakers Academy is organising skill development programme for those interested to set up or work in a bakery, its director, said Joseph Lawrence.
 
Some 10,000 persons, particularly from Southern parts of Tamil Nadu, which dominated 60 per cent of total estimated 17,000 units existing in the state, are expected to participate in the fair, he said.
