Less than a week after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani snubbed party president Nitin Gadkari by not attending a public meeting in Mumbai, the party patriarch on Thursday made a veiled attack on the latter's way of functioning in his blog.
Showing his discontent with Gadkari on his handling of the situation within the party, the senior-most leader said the mood in the principal opposition party was not upbeat. He also blamed Gadkari for undermining BJP’s campaign against corruption. “The mood within the party these days is not upbeat. The results in Uttar Pradesh, the manner in which the party welcomed BSP ministers who were removed by Mayawati on charges of corruption, the party’s handling of the Jharkhand and Karnataka (infightings), all these have undermined the party’s campaign against corruption,” said Advani in his post, BJP: A hub of hope. The first point was in reference to the induction of Babu Singh Kushwaha and other ministers of the Mayawati government who are facing several corruption charges.
