Ahmedabad University's Centre of Heritage Management to help UP boost heritage tourism

An MOU has been signed between the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation and Ahmedabad University's Centre for Heritage Management for boosting heritage tourism in the state.

According to an official statement, the Centre for Heritage Management would give inputs for developing heritage walk and cycle rides in different cities of the state including Kanpur, Agra, and Varanasi on the basis of which events would be organised.

There are several places in the state having historical importance which are of immense interest among tourists and these heritage walks and cycle rides would help in attracting the interest of national and international tourists, the statement said.
 
Agra, Lucknow, and Varanasi is being developed as heritage arc and efforts are on to provide world class facilities three km around the Taj Mahal in Agra, it said.

The managing director of the UP Tourism Development Corporation, Shashank Vikram and Vice Chancellor of Ahmedabad University Shailendra Raj Mehta signed the MOU, the statement added.
