Allays fears of radiation from mobile towers

The Cellular Operators Association of India, in its efforts to allay the fears of harmful radiation due to mobile towers, has roped in experts from oncology, radiology, molecular and physical sciences as well as the WHO. Titled 'Mobile Networks and Public Health' series, experts from across the globe have come together to dispel the unwarranted fears.

In a COAI release, brain tumour specialist at Tata Medical Centre, Rakesh Jalali, said the RF waves used in mobile phone technology is probably at the lowest end of the electro magnetic spectrum and doses not cause any DNA kill.
