BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Army after troops carried out surgical strikes across the LoC.

"I congratulate Modi and Indian Army for surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir," Shah tweeted.

Shah said the Indian Army had inflicted heavy damage on terrorists. The action "reaffirms army's valour and commitment to the nation's security", he added.

He said it was for the first time in the fight against terrorism that India was feeling secure.

"I again salute the valour of the Indian Army for giving a befitting reply to those attacking innocent Indians and ensuring zero tolerance on terror," he said.
