Despite the dire consequences of being addicted to technology, with people having near death experiences while texting or checking their Facebook accounts, Apple has reportedly come up with an ad in defence of iZombies, as it says the tech 'brings a person closer to loved ones sitting next on the couch.'
The tech giant in its 90-second ad, titled 'Misunderstood', centers on a teenage boy who is lost in his iPhone while his family members are celebrating Christmas, but later it turns out that the boy had been indeed filming and editing the precious moments of togetherness.
According to the New York Post, Apple's intended message is that if one gets an iPhone, they'll be more in the moment, more in harmony with the surroundings, more lovingly connected than ever before.
However, chances are that people addicted to their gadgets might not be really part of their surroundings but indeed remain oblivious to them.
Recently, a woman plunged off a pier while checking Facebook on her smartphone, in another incidence, a Texas man drove off a bridge and nearly died shortly after sending a text saying, 'I need to quit texting.'
In such a situation, finding Apple releasing an ad in defence is concerning as these gizmos are turning people into disconnected loners untethered to reality, the report added.
