He however added that he could not divulge much at this stage

A week after rationalist Dr Narendra Dabholkar was shot dead in Pune, Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil today said that the culprits in the case will land in police clutches.

"The investigation in the case is progressing on all fronts. Though I cannot divulge much at this stage, I can tell you that... We would be able to get hold of the accused very soon and expose the conspirators," Patil told reporters.

The anti-superstition crusader was killed on Aug. 20, allegedly by two assailants who fired at him from close when he was out for a morning walk at Omkareshwar bridge.

Pune crime branch has so far failed to secure any breakthroughs in the murder.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had earlier said that police had found some clues in the case although they were not enough to lead to any arrests.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra ATS chief Rakesh Maria has arrived in Pune to help the local crime branch with its probe.
