At least 100 people are dead and equal number missing in one of the worst accidents in recent memories in Assam when an overloaded ferry, carrying around 250 people, capsized in Brahmaputra river midstream on Monday after it was caught in a storm. Though the number of people onboard the ferry before the disaster struck is still not confirm, it is being suggested there were 250 to 300 people onboard it. At least 63 people have either swum to the banks safely or had been rescued.
