Security beefed up on UP-Nepal border for Ayodhya event
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Uttar Pradesh Police have intensified patrolling along the 551 km-long India-Nepal border, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Ayodhya for Ram Temple Bhumi Puja on Wednesday.
According to senior police officers, a tight vigil is being maintained on movement along the border and people living in villages adjoining the border have been asked to alert security officials if they come across any suspicious activity or element in their area.
The security arrangements across the state, especially in Ayodhya and on the Indo-Nepal border, has been beefed up after intelligence agencies warned of a possible terror attack in August.

PM Modi to plant 'Parijaat' sapling using traditional drip irrigation method ahead of 'bhoomi pujan'
Among the plethora of activities lined up for Wednesday at the Ram temple site in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to plant a 'Parijaat' sapling on the temple premises ahead of the 'bhoomi pujan'.
However, it is not just the holiness associated with the 'Parijaat' in the Hindu mythology, but also the manner in which the sapling will be planted that makes it unique.
PM Modi is likely to use the traditional natural drip irrigation method, achieved by placing an unglazed clay pot filled with water parallel to the roots of the plant thereby providing water to the plant for about a week, while planting the auspicious 'Parijaat' sapling.

'August 5 is historical day', says Ramdev on Ram Temple ceremony
Yoga Guru Ramdev called August 5 a historical day ahead of the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Wednesday.
The yoga guru, who will be attending the ceremony, reached Ayodhya on Tuesday afternoon.
Ramdev visited the Hanuman Garhi temple in and morning and speaking to media persons, said, "This day (August 5) is historical and generations will remember the day with great pride."
"A new history is being written in India and we should celebrate the day. I am confident that with the construction of Ram Temple, 'Ram Rajya' will be established in the country," he said.

Ravan temple to celebrate Bhumi Puja of Ram temple
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays the foundation stone of the Ram temple in Ayodhya at noon on Wednesday, a temple dedicated to demon king Ravan will also reverberate with cries of 'Jai Shri Ram'.
The temple, in Bisrakh area, is dedicated to Ravan, the demon king who was slain by Lord Ram in Lanka.
Mahant Ramdas, the priest of the Ravan temple, said: "We will distribute sweets after the conclusion of the 'bhumi pujan' ceremony in Ayodhya."
He further said: "If Ravan was not there, there would have been no Ram and in the absence of Lord Ram, no one would have known anything about Ravan. The two entities are inter-linked."

Tight security in two Assam districts ahead of Bhumi Puja
In view of the Bhumi Puja ceremony of Ram temple in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya on Wednesday, security has been beefed up in two southern Assam districts -- Cachar and Karimganj, officials said.
Executive Magistrates have been appointed to oversee the situations, officials said on Tuesday, adding Central para-military and state security forces led by senior police officers have been deployed in Cachar and Karimganj districts.
Cachar District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli has appointed four Executive Magistrates to supervise the overall situations in the mixed populated district, an official said.
