In the wake of the gang rape and killing of two teenage girls in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has decided to stage state-wide protest against the sudden spurt in crime against women.
CPI state secretary Girish said a party delegation would visit Badaun tomorrow and meet the family members of the victims.
A discussion on the sudden rise in crime against women in the state was held during the party's state executive meeting here today, he said. The meeting also decided to hold demonstrations in all the district headquarters on June 12, demanding security for women.
