With the election to the top post of the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) expected to take place on Monday, along with its annual general meeting, various camps are active in discussions and nominations here in Chennai on Sunday.
Jagmohan Dalmiya, former BCCI president, is the only person to submit nomination for the post of president, according to reports. This time, it was the turn of East Zone to nominate the president, and Dalmiya had his presence made there. He was earlier elected as president of BCCI in 2001.
Reports suggest that Sanjay Patel and Anurag Thakur are expected to contest for the post of secretary, Amitabh Choudhary and Chetan Desai for the post of joint secretary, Anirudh Choudhary and Rajiv Shukla for the post of treasurer, and three other vice-presidents to be elected on Monday. Two vice-presidents, for East and South Zones have been nominated unopposed, said reports.

While N Srinivasan, whose name was doing the rounds as a powerful candidate, opted out of election, his camp is said to be supporting Dalmiya.
According to reports, former BCCI President and ICC Chairman and politician Sharad Pawar has came down to Chennai days in advance. Sources suggest that the former minister, who was BCCI President from 2005 to 2008 and later became ICC president for two years from 2010, is currently heading the cricket association of Mumbai and has his ambitions to return to the top position of BCCI for one more time.
