Bidar in 2014 world monuments watch

Bidar was nominated by the Indian Heritage Cities Network

The historic city of Bidar in Karnataka has been selected for inclusion in the 2014 World Monuments Watch. This was announced at a press conference held in New York on October 8 by WMF president Bonnie Burnham, according to Indian Heritage Cities Network - Foundation Executive Director K S Raykar.

Bidar, along with the house of Shaikh Salim Chisti (Fatehpur Sikri, Agra, Uttar Pradesh) and Juna Mahal (Dungarpur, Rajasthan), has been placed on the watch of the international organisation World Monuments Fund (WMF) in need of urgent attention for conservation. The Watch features 67 sites across 41 countries and territories. Bidar was nominated by the Indian Heritage Cities Network.
