BS Reporter New Delhi/Bijnore
A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime minister candidate Narendra Modi's close aide Amit Shah for his revenge speech by the Bijnore district administration on Sunday and the outburst is under the scrutiny of the Election Commission.

Shah was booked under Section 153 of the Indian Penal Code (inciting people) and Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act (promoting enmity between classes), Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha said in Lucknow. The report followed a complaint by the Congress on Saturday.

BJP cries conspiracy
BJP termed the report against its general secretary a joint conspiracy of the Congress, the Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party (SP) alliance. Senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned SP-run state government's failure to act against "inflammatory speeches" of Congress' Beni Prasad Verma and SP's Azam Khan.
