Former director general corporate affairs B K Bansal, who was facing a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in a corruption case, allegedly committed suicide along with his son, Yogesh, at their residence in East Delhi on Tuesday.
Bansal and his son's suicides came nearly two months after Bansal's wife and daughter committed suicide by hanging themselves from ceiling fans at their residence in Nilkanth Apartments. The two had left separate suicide notes, saying that the "CBI raid" caused "great humiliation" and they did not want to live after that.
Bansal’s suicide note on the other hand named CBI officers and alleged that it was their excesses that led to him and his son towards suicide.
A senior BJP politician's name has also been churned up by the suicide notes.
Who was BK Bansal?
Bansal, who hailed from Hisar in Haryana, was an additional secretary-rank officer in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

What were the allegations against him?
CBI apprehended Bansal in connection with an alleged bribery case of Rs 9 lakh on July 16, this year.
Bansal along with a private person, Vishwadeep Bansal, were nabbed from a hotel while the bribe was allegedly being exchanged for showing favours to a private firm, CBI sources had said.
At that time, sources had said that Rs 54 lakh were recovered during searches at six locations in connection with the case.
What happened to his wife and daughter
Bansal's wife Satyabala (57) and and daughter Neha (27) committed suicide in July, barely days after Bansal was arrested.
Satyabala and Neha left separate suicide notes, saying nobody was responsible for their death, police said.
According to reports, their suicide letters said that the CBI raids had caused "great humiliation" but stopped short of naming anyone as responsible for their deaths.
Subsequently, Bansal was granted bail.
Why they committed suicide
However, Bansal and his son's suicide notes, accessed by the PTI, elaborate on why Satyabala and Neha committed suicide.
In their suicide notes, the father and son had alleged that a CBI DIG, two women officers and a "fat" havaldar of the agency had tortured his wife and daughter, after which both had committed suicide in July.
In his note, Bansal alleged that his wife and daughter had shared the details of the alleged "torture" with friends and neighbours before taking the extreme step.
He alleged that the CBI DIG also claimed that he was close to a politician of the ruling party and dared Bansal to do whatever he wanted.
According to the Telegraph, the politician the DIG allegedly claimed to be close to is BJP's Amit Shah.
Bansal alleged that the women officers slapped his wife even as the DIG abused her over phone and threatened to torture Bansal who was in CBI custody.
He said, "even if I was at fault in the case, why were my wife and daughter pushed to suicide by CBI officials."
"This cannot be termed as suicide. It is a murder of two ladies," he said, adding that the DIG and the "fat" Havaldar should be subjected to lie detector test to know the truth.
Yogesh made the same allegations in his separate note.
"My mother and my sister were against suicide but they were tortured to such an extent that they took the step," he alleged, adding that they were "murdered" by CBI officers and supported by a neighbour who made fun of their situation.
