Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday said he would like to see Hyderabad become number one IT city in the country and also emerge as one of the hardware manufacturing hubs to be able to provide a job for every individual.
“I will take brand Hyderabad all over the world. In the next five years, every product should carry the tag 'Made in Hyderabad' instead of 'Made in China'. As your dream state of Telangana becomes a reality on June 2, I would like you to dream big for your future and the Congress party will make it a reality,” he said addressing a rally in the city on his second visit to Telangana.
Focusing on the complex demographics of the city, Rahul said Hyderabad was a synonym for brotherhood between the people of different religions and different regions and that its development was a collective effort of all those people.

“While the city’s future also depends on brotherhood and harmony, parties like the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is trying to create hatred between one another,” he said while referring to a large section of Seemandhra population living in the city. He said the Congress party would take the responsibility for the protection of each and every citizen living here.
Talking about his ‘Made in Hyderabad’ wish in a bit more specific way to please the crowd, Rahul told them he would like to wear a watch made in Hyderabad though he doesn’t wear one at all now.
He also said the Congress would fulfil all the promises it made to both the two states during the bifurcation and would also waive the loans of farmers in Telangana as the UPA government did in the earlier stint. Earlier in the day, he addressed an election rally in Warangal, about 130 km from here.
Union Minister Gulam Nabi Azad said TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao was deceiving the people of Telangana by stating his party had achieved the separate statehood for Telangana.
