British Council has announced largest ever scholarship programme for India with around 370 scholarships worth almost Rs 10 crore for 260 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in England, Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland.
"We want India’s brightest and best students to come and study at our universities in the UK," said Andrew Soper, Counsellor (Prosperity), British High Commission, New Delhi.
This will be followed by a series of Education UK exhibitions across India which will further enable students to meet recruiting faculty and international managers of leading UK institutions.
Annually, 4,00,000 overseas students study at UK institutions, of which almost 30,000 are currently from India.
