CAG Rajiv Mehrishi should recuse himself from auditing Rafale deal: Cong

The Congress on Sunday said Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Rajiv Mehrishi should recuse himself from auditing the purchase of 36 Rafale fighter jets from France because he was the finance secretary when the deal was being negotiated.

It would be improper for Mehrishi to present the report in Parliament, the Opposition party said. The CAG report on the controversial deal is likely to be tabled in Parliament on Monday.
