The opposition Congress created ruckus in the House over the Basaguda police encounter and boycotted the proceedings even as the monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly started today with a stormy note.
As the House assembled on Thursday, Congress members moved the adjournment motion on the issue of Basaguda encounter claiming that the security personnel had gunned down innocent villagers in the name of Naxalites. “We want immediate discussion on the issue by adjourning other businesses,” Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey said. The opposition members were so charged that they refused to entertain Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik’s plea to allow transacting Question Hour. Amidst uproar, the Question Hour could not be conducted even as Kaushik announced to take up debate for the admissibility of the motion.
