CII, YI launch 'Finishing School' in Bhopal

The Finishing School will provide soft skills coaching to students graduating from engineering, business management and law institutions

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Young Indians (Yi), in association with Institute of Excellence in Higher Education (IEHE) has launched 'Finishing School' in Bhopal to improve employability of scheduled caste, scheduled tribes and other backward class students in Industries.

The Finishing School will provide soft skills coaching to students graduating from engineering, business management and law institutions. The purpose of the school is to facilitate the strengthening of the capability of the students, to improve their employability, once they complete their education. The focus of the programme is to sharpen soft skills, which have now become extremely important for success in any profession, anywhere in the world.
 
'The school is the development of the framework and its contents through a collaborative effort between industry, educational institutions and specialized learning management system providers. Yet it would be challenging to build and enhance the confidence level of the students by providing them early exposure to their future work places,' a CII spokesperson said.

CII and Yi Members would anchor the curriculum, to strengthen the knowledge base and rigor. They would also focus on the application part of the knowledge and practice sessions on sharpening skills. The students will attend the finishing school- consisting of 30 hours duration, during weekdays.

'The school is aimed at enhancing confidence levels, multi industry perspective and competence at performing effectively among students,' the spokesperson said.
