The state-wide bandh called by the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee evoked total response.
The bandh was called in protest against the Tuesday's Naxal attack near Tongpal in which 15 security personnel and a civilian were killed. The Congress leaders alleged that the state government had failed to tackle the Naxal problem in the state and hence chief minister, Raman Singh should resign.
The shops and business establishment across the state remained closed on Friday in response to the bandh. The Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry had supported the bandh. The other business and trade organisations had also supported the bandh call of Congress.
